Caoimhe MacRunnels
Senior Associate
“The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled.”
Plutarch
Caoimhe grew up in the heart of Silicon Valley with California transplant parents (midwest father, immigrant mother) who landed in Menlo Park by way of their own educational pursuits. She meandered through schooling with inconsistent excellence — failing Mandarin Chinese and acing social studies — until she found her way to a love of all things quantitative. Caoimhe later graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics. She started her career in the world of finance as an investment banking analyst in the technology group at Bank of America and then later joined Adams Street Partners as a growth investor focused on infrastructure software. With a passion for education and a desire to partner with founders early in their journey, Caoimhe joined the Reach Capital team in 2023.
Why Education?
The day my Irish grandmother was orphaned at 12 years old her formal education ceased. Her curiosity for learning, however, did not. She serves as a constant reminder that educational opportunity should not be bound by circumstance.
